The Kiev Major qualifiers have passed now and we finally have the end list of the teams that will be competing at the end of April:
- Direct invites – Wings, OG, Ad Finem (soon to be renamed), Liquid, EG, DC, Newbee, and VG.J.
- Qualified teams – Onyx (NA), SG (SA), Secret (EU), VP (CIS), iG.V (CN), iG (CN), Faceless (SEA), and TNC (SEA).
However, after all those matches that played out in the open qualifiers, we did get a ton of stats from our friendly neighbor – DOTABUFF.
So, without a further ado, let’s take a look at the win rates of all of the heroes that were picked at the Kiev Major qualifiers:
Heroes To Pick Right Now
Basically, as you can see, Lone Druid is in a pretty good spot right now. As are Earth Spirit, Shadow Fiend, KotL, Rubick, Slardar, and a few others.
Ember Spirit is not too bad as well along with Centaur and Vengeful Spirit. Of course, keep in mind that we are talking about pro games here (mostly) because when it comes to pub games right now, Ember is much more OP.
Also, you have to keep in mind the fact that Lone Druid was nerfed a bit in the latest 7.03 DotA 2 patch so we will so how that balances the hero and his win rates because let’s face it – it’s pretty broken right now.
Heroes Not To Pick Right Now
I feel like since Luna fell down a bit as a carry, so has Ogre which is pretty clear from its 40.53% win rate out of 1,246 games.
Another bad choice at the moment seems to be Void as an offlaner as well as Tidehunter in the same position.
Not to mention Elder Titan which was a meta pick back in 6.88 and is now second last with just 25.71% win rate. And of course, there’s the 18.18% win rate of Bristleback which I won’t comment on at all.
Now, of course, the above breakdown doesn’t mean that you should always focus on picking the heroes with the higher win rate and focus on ignoring completely the heroes with the lower win rate.
What this simply means is that the heroes with the higher win rate are more meta picks right now and will work in more situations as opposed to the extremely situational picks for the heroes with the lower win rates.
